With a background in traditional folk finger-style guitar and extensive
experience
in electronic music and sound design, Gary Hull's visionary
instrumental work
stretches the boundaries for solo acoustic guitar. " I enjoy
surprising the
audience — and myself — with what can be done with an acoustic
guitar,
" says the California-based composer and performer.
He counts Michael Hedges, Leo Kottke, Jeff Beck, Steve
Tibbetts, Robert
Fripp, Todd Rundgren, Pink Floyd, and Yes among his many influences.
