Gary Hull

With a background in traditional folk finger-style guitar and extensive experience in electronic music and sound design, Gary Hull's incendiary instrumental work stretches the boundaries for solo acoustic guitar. " I enjoy surprising the audience — and myself — with what can be done with an acoustic guitar, " says the California-based composer and performer. Hull's kinetic stage performance incorporates rock's rhythmic urgency, progressive's virtuosic complexity, and contemporary music's modal intrigue. He counts Michael Hedges, Leo Kottke, Jeff Beck, Steve Tibbetts, Robert Fripp, Todd Rundgren, Pink Floyd, and Yes among his many influences.
